The U14 secured their progression through the Middlesex Cup after beating Hadley Rangers 5-4 on penalties in what was an exciting game to watch. Hadley took the lead in the first half with an early goal which was followed soon after by a second when the Omegistas failed to clear their lines, this sparked the Omegistas into raising their attack against the Hadley. A clinical strike from Reinaldo put AOCFFC back into the game. AOCFFC started the second half strong by putting Hadley under pressure which resulted in the equaliser. AOCFFC fail to take the lead after missing a penalty, nevertheless took the lead with a classic finish from Billy. Hadley showed true character and was awarded a penalty which levelled the game again.
AOCFC took the lead seven minutes late with what can only be considered the goal of the game with a finish from Antonio from a tight angle. Unfortunately poor ball management by the Omegistas allowed Hadley back into the game which resulted in a goal taking the game into extra time. Neither side could take advantage and the game went to penalties. The Omegistas confidently put their first two penalties away and with Hadley missing their second penalty AOCFFC were confident of going through to the next round. Although Hadley despatched their remaining penalties it was left to vice Captain Denu to win the game.
AOCFFC will meet Acton Ealing Whistlers in the next round.
